Created by Larry Cornder, SSME (SubSpace Map Editor) has been the most popular map editor since VIE days. There have been two releases of SSME, 0.071a and 0.081a. Both releases are good in their own repects, as the changes between the two are different enough that each version has its advantages over the other.
SSME saves maps using the LVL Format.
