Bongs are sounds that can be played with messages. A bong can be sent with a message by placing the bong number preceded by a '%' anywhere in the message. The bong number is removed from the text by the client and then sent in a special field in the message packet, so the number will not appear in the message once it is sent. Note that to send a '%' as part of the text of your message, you must use '%%'.

If a [[moderator]], or anyone with more access than a moderator sends a message with a bong in it, it is forwarded to all players (this includes green [[arena]] and [[zone]] messages as well as blue chat messages). If a regular player sends a bong message then only they will hear it, but the text of the message is still sent to everyone else. The only exception to this is green messages that contain only a bong sound. In these kinds of messages the sound is heard by all(since the player must have mod+ to send green messages) but no text is displayed.

Normal players can send sound messages with their team messages, if players choose to hear it (an option in Continuum's sound settings, ''No Team Sounds'') and if the zone's [[sysop]]s choose to include wave files. The valid ranges are %150 through %255 (bong150.wa2 through bong255.wa2 for inclusion inside LVZs).

Here are the messages and their numbers:
 1 = Beep, type 1
 2 = Beep, type 2
 3 = You're not dealing with AT&T
 4 = Due to some violent content, parental discretion is advised
 5 = Hallellula
 6 = Ronald Reagan
 7 = Inconceivable
 8 = Winston Churchill
 9 = Listen to me, you pebble farting snot licker
 10 = Crying
 11 = Burp
 12 = Girl
 13 = Scream
 14 = Fart1
 15 = Fart2
 16 = Phone ring
 17 = The world is under attack at this very moment
 18 = Gibberish
 19 = Ooooo
 20 = Geeee
 21 = Ohhhh
 22 = Awwww
 23 = This game sucks
 24 = Sheep
 25 = I can't log in!
 26 = Beep, type 3 (same as priv message alarm sound)
 100= Start music playing
 101= Stop music
 102= Play music for 1 iteration then stop
 103= Victory bell
 104= Goal!
